Miki Smith
Miki Smith was born and raised in Connecticut. Her career began at the NLON Submarine Base as a Civil Servant. She wanted to return to school and transitioned into a legal transcriptionist. The skills that she developed allowed her to take on the role of Engagement Specialist at a mental health/substance abuse facility. The role required proficiency in HIPAA regulations, billing and coding, office procedures, client de-escalation, scheduling, and PowerPoint presentations. Although she loved the job and the people, she did not have the support of the management team.
Who would have thought that a posting on Craigslist would bring Miki to where she is today; yes, you did read that correctly. Miki responded to a Craigslist post and was officially asked to join Alan J. Eckstrand, LLC in October of 2021. Miki enjoys interactions with the clients and putting her special touch on their emails, with fun sayings and something to make them smile. “I try very hard to treat people how I would want to be treated.”
She is the proud mom of 5 children, 4 daughters and 1 son. Miki says that no mom is perfect, but that she has tried to create fun memories and traditions along the way.
Her B.Y.O.P. (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) parties started small and evolved into upwards of 25 people attending to carve pumpkins. She will never hear the end of her Monster Meatloaf, which apparently was not a hit. She and the kids always looked forward to voting on what the Christmas tree theme would be each year. The Superhero tree turned into a debate regarding whose Superhero would be the last one standing. Miki is full of stories, and many people often tell her she should write a book. With the children grown, she is always on the hunt for fun and unique things to do. She recently attended a Murder Mystery dinner, since she is a true-crime buff. She also enjoys cleaning, yard work, the beach, and coloring,
